Develop your entrepreneurial spirit
- Write down your list of priorities. Just brainstorm, including some maybe wild thoughts. That’s ok, you’ll pare them down. If you just stuff those wild ideas they will harm you. You will regret not having thought them through to a rational point where you may decide to pursue or not! Again, that will be an aware choice. Every thought we have creates a chemical in our brain and body according to the feeling we connect with the thought.
- Think about a time you had success in your life. Fully remember the experience of what your decision was. What you did to prepare, study, practice etc, what you wore, what you ate, how you got there. What was the thought process? Were you nervous, did you figure out a way to calm yourself? Who was giving you unconditional love and support? Are they still in your life? If they passed you probably know that they would want you to do and have your desires and success in anything you do.
- Think mindfully through the steps that your priorities involve. Now think again what it felt like when you had that successful great feeling and visualize the possibility that it can happen again for this situation. Because it can. It must be believable. You can’t fool yourself. Take small steps in the direction you want your action and life to go.
- Use the plasticity of your mind. Here’s how: When you procrastinate and you want to establish a new habit, firmly encourage/push yourself to make a tiny move to change your brain’s direction. Follow that with getting up and taking steps in the direction toward what you have to use, the act of your eyes experiencing the scenery moving past them tells your brain that you are going in the right direction. This activates the Dopamine production in your brain, the true function of Dopamine is pursuit of more, not actually the reward at the end.
- Once you’re up/involved you will not quit you will go on to pursue your goal and you will have ended the procrastination. At that time acknowledge to your own brain praise for yourself. This will help to wire together the neurons that fire together, to create the paths in the brain to have the body do what you direct.
