How to Select a Health Coach That Is Just Right For Your Wants and Needs

There are four core competencies that a coach should have:

  1. The coach should have ethical and professional standards and establish a coaching agreement with you.  
  2. The coach should co-create the relationship with support and safety for you at the forefront.  
  3. The coach should communicate effectively by listening for full understanding and asking powerful questions.
  4. The coach should facilitate learning and results by creating awareness, designing actions, planning, goal setting, and managing progress with accountability.  
  5. Finally, most of all there should feel compatibility between you.

What can a coach help with?

A coach first helps you determine if the  components of health such as: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual factors are where you want them to be, to be healthy and happy. 

It’s not just the absence of disease but a feeling of wholeness and happiness looking forward to the future.

As your coach I combine the Neurofunctional plasticity of your brain to maximize your journey.  

Every thought you have creates chemicals in the brain and body.

Included in this journey is a vision of optimal health across your full life span. It makes me part of your wellness team: you are not alone.  

It includes the seamless engagement of your health factors, physical, psychological, social, preventive and therapeutic, while you still get to be you and relationship-centered. 

Neurofunctional is an integrative modality using scientific disciplines and processes.

Lifestyle Factors

Over the nineteenth century the major advances have lengthened our life expectancy by 30 years. The infectious type illnesses were nearly eradicated.  They have been replaced with some chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.   

Lifestyle Risk Factors.  

We want to look at the risk factors that may decline that time frame. 

Many chronic conditions are preventable and as your coach I help you minimize those risk factors.  They start early in life, yet they can be minimized and often negated for a better health outcome. 

The research has shown that people that use a coach have better long term outcomes and results are likely to be permanent. 

Sounds like a lot to address but there are many easy things you can choose from to make the adjustments you want and need.

On a Personal Note

I am a very active person and have been all of my life. In my early 80s I still enjoy rollerblading, snow skiing and kite surfing. Active senior years are possible if you care for your health. Even if you have a chronic condition your quality of life can improve.
